hello there,

just thought i'd let you know... for a limited time, the Oregon Tobacco
Quit Line (a.k.a "Free & Clear") is giving away free patches to people without health insurance! pass the word. even if someone has insurance they should call, because the Quit Line can tell people if their health benefits cover smoking cessation - - and if not, they may be eligible for patches through the Quit Line
anyway. the Quit Line also helps out teens. so if there is someone you know who is thinking about quitting, tell them to call the Oregon Tobacco Quit Line. it's a free call... see below for more information. The toll free number for the Oregon Tobacco Quit Line is 1-877-270 STOP or 1-877-2NO-FUME for Spanish-speaking callers.

good luck,
lucia

The new services offered are:

* The Free and Clear 4-call program to youth 17 and under (includes 4
counseling calls) in Oregon

*The Free and Clear 4-call program and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT)
to young people who are 18 years old in Oregon (youth 17 and under do not
receive NRT from us unless they fax in a doctor's prescription)

*The Free and Clear program and NRT to uninsured Oregonians.

The NRT is provided in shipments of 4 weeks at a time, not to exceed 8
weeks worth.

We will not be publicizing the expanded services and will be relying on
word of mouth to get the message out.
